From 2013 : Rosemary’s Ladies fashions : moved from no. 48  Cross Street.  (Opened 2nd shop “Rosie’s by Rosemary’s” Aug 2019 at no. 6 Cross Street)

1942 : Ad in Abergavenny Chronicle, Pearl Assurance, Manager W L Morris;  similar adverts into the 1950s, showing a joint property with Halfords.   Halfords advertising cycles etc; plus Pearl Assurance ads into the 1960s;

By 1969  adverts for nos. 12,13 and 14 : Sydney George, looking for sales assistants in lingerie and corsetry departments.  Sydney George advertise constantly up to the early 2000s

In 1937 : as well as Halford Cycle Co Ltd, the property was also occupied by W L Morris, LFI, District Manager for Pearl Assurance Co Ltd

In 1926 : as well as George H Davies, Architect, was also occupied by Pearl  Assurance, Thomas Price

In 1923 : as well as Pearl Life Assurance, was also occupied by Clydach & Abergavenny Lime & Stone Co;  as well as Halford Cycles;  T Price, Insurance Agents;   J Marsh & Son, Timber Merchants

In 1921 : as well as Jasper & Goatman, Grocers, was also occupied by J Marsh & Son, Coal Merchants (who were also at GWR, Station Road)

In 1920 : as well as Herbert Basil Jones, Artificial Teeth-maker was also occupied by Clydach & Abergavenny Lime & Stone Co Ltd;   also J Marsh & Son, Timber Merchants (also at GWR Station);   also Jones & Sons Ltd, Timber & Coal Merchants & Saw Prop

In 1914 : as well as Jones & Son, Coal & Timber Merchants, also occupied by Clydach & Abergavenny Lime & Stone Co.

In 1910 : the premises were occupied by four people : Francis, Hansard, Jasper & Goatman.     J Marsh & Son were coal, lime, salt, English timber merchants.   Hansards were in Castle Street by 1914 and Mineral Water moved to the corner of Regent Street

Source for all of the above : Abergavenny Local History Society Survey 1980.   There is also a query as to whether William Watkins (occupied the premises roughly from 1850s to 1870s) was the same William Watkins who ran the “Golden Fleece” (1859)
