About the Building

Before demolition, this house had upper cruck rafters – circa 1600. A fine cupboard given to the Museum before demolition. (Source Thacker).

Other Information

Redwoods: The farmers’ wives took their own food to eat here on market days. It was always packed full and lively. (source: Mr George Davies).

In about 1884 a ‘Land Map of Manitoba and Canadian North West’ was published showing an advertisement for Fred Allan of 4 Flannel Street, outfitter, “The Oldest Emigration Office in the County.”
