About the Building
Photograph in the Museum. Previously very small cottages with other small cottages in St John’s Square backing onto them. These had the kitchens in the cellars. (source: G Edwards)
Cleared in 1962 for extension to the rebuilt No 18.
No.18 rebuilt to include the space taken by nos.20 & 22 and the two cottages backing onto them, when the old row 18-26 was demolished to make the open space in front of the the building that was originally Post Office, (from 2024 only sorting office)
The project was completed in 1972.
