Other Information

“I first remember my grandfather showing me a hidden archway in the cellar.  He wondered if it linked to the tunnels that allegedly run below the streets from outside the old East Gate to the Castle.  It always captured my imagination and, when the building was demolished in 1965, I was quite disappointed to discover that it was on old doorway into a delivery area at the back of the building” [Source: Email, Sue Hughes, August 2024]
