The property was described as a freehold shop, dwelling house and premises in the occupation of Mr W. J. 1901: The building was occupied by Mr William J Day (Age 44) and his wife Elizabeth (Age 42) together with three sons, a young daughter and a Servant. Mr Maxwell was described as a Hay & Corn Merchant operating from this address. His eldest son Reginald (Age 17) also worked in the business as a ‘shopman’. [Source: 1901 Census Report].
Mr William J Day (1901-1910) was a notable hockey player of his time.
