About the Building
Around 1880. Edwardian imposed on an old shell. (L Hurley)
The Edwardian building incorporated No 49
48 & 49 Frogmore Street. A fire broke out on the 10th November 2024 and destroyed the entire building. It was later demolished.

Recent History
2024 November: Belle of the Ball was no longer trading in this space (it was by now all “Magic Cottage” charity shop” but the whole ex Richards building was destroyed by fire on the night of 10 November 2024
2023 November: Belle of the Ball – wedding dresses/mother of bride/occasion wear etc : this shop between Cable News and Magic Cottage Charity Shop Although Magic Cottage were originally using this space, ? is Belle of the Ball separate business or part of the charity shop. [ALHS Survey 1980+]

2020 : Sometime during this pandemic year, the windows of the ex Richards Department Store was used for display of furniture from Timothy Oulton (Clearance) (shop in Mill Street) [ALHS Survey 1980+].
2019 April: For short while, taken by Baileys (based on Brecon Road) but this did not last. [ALHS Survey 1980+].
